The Beatles – First State “Butcher Cover” In Near Mint Condition

An extremely rare Beatles’ Yesterday and Today album, with the first state “Butcher” cover; in Near Mint- condition.  First state “Butcher”covers never had the second state “trunk” slick pasted over them, and are thus the rarest and most desirable examples.  On this copy the all important slick is in near flawless condition, bright and bold with only an extremely tiny abrasion at the bottom edge near the right corner.  There is some light foxing to the top white edge, a small ding to the lower left corner, a tiny bit of wear to the bottom right corner, and the expected toning to the back cover–but all of these are extremely minor issues.  This was fabricated at Capitol’s Scranton plant, as indicated by the small “3” printed on the bottom right corner of the back cover.  With a first pressing disc, in VG(+) condition.  As nice a first state “Butcher” as you’re likely to find.  With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.   (Note: Second state “paste over” butcher covers had their right edge trimmed when the “trunk” slick was applied–so these, and third state examples–second state copies with the “trunk” slick removed–are slightly narrower than first state copies.  We’ve photographed a second state example–also for sale here–on top of this first state copy to illustrate this.)
