The Beatles – Rare 1965 Italy Pressing “Beatles For Sale” LP (VG++, Plays NM)
A rare VG++/VG++ Italian second pressing of Beatles For Sale. This album was originally issued in December 1964 with a red Parlophone label, but by mid-1965 the company had changed their labels to the black design on this copy. This has the earliest matrix, with the stamped date 1-12-64 (December 4, 1964) on both sides, and the earliest black labels with the BIEM and MECOLICO logos on Side One, and BIEM only on Side Two.
The disc plays Near Mint, and is shiny with some superficial sleeve marks, but no scratches or anything feelable. The lamintated gatefold cover is very nice, with a perfect spine and an alternate left panel inside the gatefold that omits the liner notes and live photograph in the UK issue. There is a barely noticable repaired seam split to the bottom 1 1/2″ of the spine. A very clean example of a very rare record.
