The Beatles – “Red Parlophone” 1st Pressing Debut Single “Love Me Do/Please Please Me”
A UK ‘Red Parlophone’ first pressing of the Beatles debut single, ‘Love Me Do/P.S. I Love You,’ in Excellent condition. This pressing was the first Beatles record released anywhere in the world, and is such extremely collectible. Soon after the release of this single, Parlophone changed the design of their 45 labels to the famous black label with silver printing, making the ‘Red Parlophone’ copies of the Beatles debut quite scarce. This is the first pressing, with the stamped ZT tax code and 1A/1M stampers in the matrix and “Made in Great Britian” credit on both sides. Furthermore, only the red label copies feature the early version of ‘Love Me Do’ with Ringo on drums and no tambourine (replaced on the black label copies and the Please Please Me album by a version featuring session drummer Alan White, and Ringo on tambourine.) The labels here are in superb NM condition, while the vinyl grades EX/EX. The single comes in the original multicolored diamond design sleeve. A clean example of this historic–and fantastic–debut single.
