The Beatles – Sgt. Pepper’s Fan Club Promo Poster
A superb color promo poster for The Beatles Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band album, issued by The Beatles Official Fan Club in “Summer, 1967.” Measuring 20″ x 28″, the poster features “The Beatle Bulletin” on the reverse, including a track by track breakdown of the album, titled “Programme of the Sgt. Pepper Show,” as well as a Beatles news update. In virtually perfect condition (with machine folds, as it was originally sent out.) This poster was from the collection of the late Ralph J. Gleason (1917-1975;) one of the most influential jazz and pop music critics of all time. He was a central figure in the San Francisco rock scene, helped organize the Monterey Pop Festival, co-founded Rolling Stone magazine, and was a cofounder of the Monterey Jazz Festival. Gleason was friendly with the Beatles and was the only journalist to interview them at their final concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park.
