The Beatles – Stereo 3rd State ‘Yesterday and Today’ Butcher Cover LP
A peeled stereo ‘third state’ Beatles Yesterday and Today ‘Butcher Cover’ album, in VG+ condition.
First state ‘Butcher Covers’ were never pasted over, while ‘second state’ albums have the replacement ‘trunk’ cover pasted over the offending “butcher” slick, with the “V” from Ringo’s butcher smock slightly visible to the right of the top of the trunk. This is a rare stereo third state’ copy, with the trunk cover peeled off.
Stereo Butcher covers are much rarer than mono copies, with some estimating mono copies outnumber stereo ones 10 to 1. This has the #number 2 on the back, indicating it was made at Capitol Records’ pressing plant in Scranton, PA. The cover is clean, with some small tears to the front, but almost all of the butcher slick intact. There are 1″ seam splits to the top and bottom right edges, and the previous owner’s name written on the back cover.
With an original first pressing disc in NM-/EX+ condition, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
