The Beatles – UK 45 Acetate for alternate Lady Madonna
A Beatles UK EMI acetate of an alternate version of "Lady Madonna" with letter of authenticity from internationally recognized Beatles expert Perry Cox. This 10" one-sided acetate was cut prior to the song being finished. Identified as RM 1 (Remix 1) on the label, it is a completely different mix from the released & Anthology versions, with a different vocal, background vocals, different horn parts without a saxophone solo, and no John Lennon at the end. It grades G- but plays well with some surface noise. Perry Cox, world famous Beatles expert and author of "The Official Price Guide To Beatles Records and Memorabilia" writes in his COA "I have personally examined this recording and have determined it to be an authentic UK EMI Records item from 1968." Ken Scott, the legendary record producer and Beatles engineer told me the following about Beatles acetates: "Back in those days there were no cassettes, DATs or CDs and so the main way for artists and producers to be able to listen to something at home was through playback acetates. The number required varied. As did the persons receiving them. It could be producer, artist, arranger, publisher, DJ or sometimes even a promotion guy." Also included is a CD transfer of this acetate. As with everything we offer it is guaranteed authentic with no time limit. This came from an extremely large and long term European Beatles collection, and as you might imagine is incredibly rare. Scan lightened for readability.
