The Beatles – UK Gold Parlophone Please Please Me LP

A beautiful EX+/EX to VG++ copy of the rare "Gold Parlophone" first pressing of the Beatles UK debut album (and their first album anywhere in the world,) PLEASE PLEASE ME. The gold label was available only for a few weeks before Parlophone changed their label design to the more familiar Yellow & Black design. The gold label copies, therefore, are highly sought after as the "first of the first" pressings. This has the second label variation with the "Northern Songs" publishing designation; both are equally rare and desirable. In addition, this has the earliest MT tax code and -1N master numbers, and -1T & -1N stamper numbers, making this one of the very earliest discs pressed. They are almost never found this clean; the disc has some superficial scuffs, but is shiny, beautiful and sounds great. The all important labels are in NM condition. The rare Ernest J. Day "large mono" cover too is very clean with just a tiny match-head sized piece of one of the flipbacks missing on the back cover and two very very slightly dinged corners. A wonderful copy of a historically important (and great !) album.(br)Price: $1800.00 US
