The Byrds – Autographs From 16 Magazine Archive / Original 5 Members
A very rare set of autographs of The Byrds, signed by the original lineup–Jim McGuinn, Gene Clarke, David Crosby, Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke. These were signed for 16 Magazine editor Gloria Stavers, who would have band sign on plain white sheets of paper so she could reproduce them in the magazine, sometimes over the individual member’s photos.
We can date these as having been signed between April 1965 (when Columbia Records released their debut single, “Mr Tambourine Man) and early 1966, when Gene Clark left the band, for various reasons including his fear of flying.
We originally acquired these about 10 years ago, from Gloria Stavers estate. Each signature is a perfect “10”–we can’t imagine there is a better set of Byrds autographs anywhere.
With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity. 8″ x 5 1/2″.
