The Police – Original Sting Photograph Used On “Synchronicity” Album Cover w/ 2 COA’s
An original photograph of Sting by famed photographer Duane Michals, used on the cover of The Police’s album Synchronicity. This is the actual print used to produce the album cover.
We acquired this from legendary record executive Jeff Ayeroff, who at the time of Synchronicity’s release was the Vice President of Creative Services for the Police’s label, A&M Records. Ayeroff writes in the accompanying letter of authenticity:
This letter is to authenticate an original photograph of The Police by Duane Michaels, shot during the photo sessions for the album cover of their 1983 album Synchronicity. I was the art director for the album and hired Duane Michaels to photograph the band.
The photograph appears on the front cover of Synchronicity, upside down in the top row of photographs (see detail photos; album cover not included.)
Duane Michals is an acclaimed fine art photographer who has been the subject of solo exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art, Carnegie Museum of Art and the International Center for Photography, and has been honored by the National Arts Club and Royal Photography Society.
8″ x 10″, in mint condition. With Jeff Ayeroff’s letter of authenticity and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee, signed by Jeff Gold, who succeeded Jeff Ayeroff as A&M’s Creative Services VP.
