The Stooges / Velvet Underground- Sterling Morrison-Owned ‘Raw Power’ LP
A US first pressing of the Stooges album Raw Power, from the personal record collection of Sterling Morrison of the Velvet Underground.
This Stooges album, from the collection of the late Velvets guitarist, is an extraordinary artifact from the nexus of two of the most important and unconventional bands ever.
We obtained this and a few other of Morrison’s records from his widow Martha Morrison; a copy of her letter of authenticity is included, as is Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee, noting its extraordinary provenance.
Cover with original shrink wrap VG+/disc EX/VG++. We haven’t cleaned the vinyl, as some of the fingerprints are probably Morrison’s.
With a copy of the limited edition chapbook Why I Collect Beat-Up Old Records Owned by Jimi Hendrix, Bob Dylan, and members of The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground and Grateful Dead, by Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold; published by Jack White’s Third Man Books. In it, Gold discusses the mojo of collecting artist-owned records, including others from Sterling Morrison’s collection.
