The Velvet Underground – Original 1968 Billy Name Photograph

An extremely rare original photograph of the Velvet Underground, circa 1968, probably at Andy Warhol’s Factory, and taken by Factory photographer Billy Name.

This photograph came from the original MGM/Verve Records Velvet Underground art file.  Recordmecca’s Jeff Gold purchased the Velvet’s art file in the mid 1970’s from a former MGM employee, who had rescued it from a trash bin.  Over the years we sold some of the file’s contents, but recently reacquired most of it.  This original photograph, printed circa 1968, measures 11″ x 14” and is in excellent condition. Billy Name’s original photographs are rare and highly collectible.

This will come with a letter of authenticity stating it is an original late 60’s vintage prints by Billy Name from the original MGM/Verve Art Files. A rare opportunity indeed.
