The Velvet Underground – Sterling Morrison’s 3rd Velvets LP Union Statement
A work dues statement from Musician’s Union Local 47 (in Hollywood, CA) billing Velvet Underground guitarist Sterling Morrison for $3.90 work dues on income of $195. earned from MGM Records, between November 5-6, 1968. During November 1968 the Velvets were recording their third self-titled album in Hollywood at TTG Studios, and the $195 mentioned here undoubtedly must have been “session fees” paid by MGM to Sterling Morrison. This statement came from the archive of the late, great Sterling Morrison; we acquired this from his widow, Martha Morrison, and our written lifetime guarantee of authenticity will note this. A fantastic piece of Velvet Underground history, straight from the source !
