The Yardbirds – Signed full set of AFTRA union contracts from'66
A set of 5 handwritten and twice signed membership applications for the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists; one for each member of The Yardbirds (Jeff Beck, Keith Relf, Paul Samwell-Smith, Chris Dreja, Jim McCarty.) Each member has printed his name, signed his name, and written the address of their management office. The Yardbirds joined AFTRA on the occasion of what was probabaly their first US television appearance, on "Shivaree" January 2, 1966. These were exhibited as a part of "Sweet Home Chicago," a museum exhibit on the Chicago Blues that originated at Seattle's EXPERIENCE MUSIC PROJECT, then travelled to Chicago's Museum of Science and Industry, and then to the Delta Blues Museum in Clarksdale, Mississippi. You've heard the expression "museum quality"–and this surely fits the bill, having hung in 4 different museums ! They were archivally framed by the EMP with a color photo of the band performing on television and exhibition text. Measures 23.25" x 25" framed; in near mint condition. Also included are 5 receipts for each member's AFTRA dues, and is a letter from the Experience Music Project attesting to these documents role in the exhibit, and a photograph of them on display in the Experience Music Project.
