Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers – 1977 Fully Signed “Official Live Leg” Promotional LP

A rare first pressing of the Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers 1977 promotional-only album Official Live ‘Leg, signed at the time of the album’s manufacture by the full band: Tom Petty, Mike Campbell, Ron Blair, Stan Lynch (who adds “Mr. Drumz”) and Benmont Tench (who signs as “Ben Tench”.)

Official Live ‘Leg was recorded at Paul’s Mall in Boston in mid December 1976 at one of the band’s earliest gigs, opening for Al Kooper. It was pressed onto a single-sided LP and sent to radio stations, the press, and retailers to demonstrate the band’s awesome live power.  Very quickly convincing bootlegs were made of this rare album, and the legend of Official Live ‘Leg began to spread.

This original Shelter Records pressing is beautifully signed in ballpoint pen on the back cover.  The cover is in excellent condition; there is a barely noticeable toning (possibly a very light stain) which can be seen beneath the word “leg” on the front cover, and on the back in the lower left corner.  The number 155 is written neatly in the top right corner of the back cover; we’ve seen at other numbered copies, strongly suggesting it was numbered by the record company.  The disc is in Near Mint condition.

With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.  A great Petty collection from the beginning of his legendary band’s career.
