Velvet Underground – Sterling Morrison Owned 1969 Family Dog Great Highway Handbill
A handbill for the Velvet Underground’s November 1969 three night stand at San Francisco’s Family Dog on the Great Highway, from the collection of the late great Velvets guitarist Sterling Morrison. Tracks recorded at these shows appear on the Velvet Underground album Bootleg Series 1: The Quine Tapes, and the artwork from this handbill appears on the cover of the Quine Tapes box set.
One of the more scarce Velvets handbill, this example comes from Sterling Morrison’s legendary archive. We acquired it directly from Morrison’s widow, Martha Morrison, who’s signed letter of authenticity is included. In very good condition, with very light, even toning, a bit of missing paper to the top right corner, and a tack hole in the top right corner.
