Velvet Underground – Unique Boston Tea Party 1969 Poster

A rare poster advertising the Velvet Underground at the Boston Tea Party, May 29-31, 1969.  This poster is identical to a newspaper ad published in a Boston underground paper advertising the shows, and is likely unique or one of a very few made.  We obtained this from the archive of the late Velvet Underground guitarist, Sterling Morrison.  Morrison’s widow, Martha, told us Sterling was highly motivated to bring home handbills or posters from every gig, and if there wasn’t one available for him, he’d rip one off the wall.  This poster, measuring 12″ x 18″, is in near excellent condition and printed on thick coated Stat paper.  There is one vertical crease and three horizontal creases, with some light toning at the bottom.  The only example we know to have survived, with impeccable provenance.  With our lifetime guarantee of authenticity, noting that this came from the Sterling Morrison collection.
