Velvet Underground – 1969 End of Cole Ave. Handbill From Sterling Morrison Collection
A rare handbill for the Velvet Underground’s 1969 shows at the Dallas club The End of Cole Avenue, from the collection of the late great Velvets guitarist Sterling Morrison. These were the Velvet Underground’s first shows in Texas, and tracks recorded at these shows appear on the double album 1969: The Velvet Underground Live.
This 7 1/4″ x 8″ handbill is one of the more scarce Velvets handbill; this example comes from the legendary Sterling Morrison archive and has Morrison’s stamp and hand written inventory number on the back (the ink is barely visible on the front.) We acquired this from Morrison’s wife, Martha, and our letter of authenticity will note its provenance. In mint condition, with great psychedelic artwork (note the staring eyes at the bottom of the frame.)
