Velvet Underground – Moe Tucker’s Own 1966 Poor Richard’s Concert Poster

An extremely rare concert poster for Andy Warhol and His Exploding Plastic Inevitable featuring the Velvet Underground at Poor Richard's in Chicago, October 1966. We obtained this poster from Velvets drummer Moe Tucker, who brought it home from the show. This exact poster is reproduced on a full page in Johan Kugelberg's definitive VU book 'The Velvet Underground: New York Art.' Tucker laminated this and all her other posters to protect them; on the back is the label from the photo lab that laminated this with Tucker's name and address; she has also signed it with her first name. We know of only two other examples of this poster, one without the 'Held Over' snipe, the other without. Under the lamination, there is evidence of some moisture staining at the top of the back (barely visible on the front) and tears at the bottom and top center. The poster was folded in half before it was laminated as well, but as the photos indicate it looks bold and bright. 22' x 14'. An extremely rare Andy Warhol/Velvet Underground collectible, with impeccable provenance. Our letter of authenticity will detail how we came to obtain this directly from Moe Tucker. SOLD.
