Velvet Underground & Nico & Andy Warhol – Signed Billy Name Serigraph
A beautiful limited-edition Serigraph (a fine-art silkscreen print) by Billy Name of The Velvet Underground with Nico, Andy Warhol, Mary Woronov and Gerard Malanga at Warhol’s Silver Factory in 1966.
This hand pulled screen print uses the same method Andy Warhol used to make his paintings, and was a collaboration between Factory photographer and longtime Warhol associate Billy Name and The Waverly Press of New York. It measures 15” x 23” and is printed with Archival ink on Archival Paper in a limited edition of 40, each hand signed and numbered by Billy Name. This is number 10 of 40,and in perfect new condtion.
This print was part of a series commissioned as part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Andy Warhol retrospective, “Regarding Warhol, Sixty Artists, Fifty Years,” and was sold at the Met. The edition is sold out. Billy Name is currently the subject of a one-man exhibit at Milk Gallery in New York, and his book “Billy Name: The Silver Age” has just been released.
