An original handbill from the Velvet Underground’s October, 1969 series of shows at the Vulcan Gas Company in Austin, Texas; from the collection of Velvet’s late guitarist Sterling Morrison. The bold artwork for this handbill shows a velvet lined coffin underground.  While most examples of this have an advertisement for an Austin head shop on the back, this is the much rarer blank back variation.  In mint condition, this measures 8 1/2″ x 10 3/4″ and features an ad for a local head shop on the reverse.
