Velvet Underground – Sterling Morrison Owned Family Dog Handbill
A rare handbill for the Velvet Underground’s 1969 shows at the Family Dog at the Great Highway in San Francisco, from the collection of the late great Velvets guitarist Sterling Morrison. Tracks recorded at these shows appear on the double album Bootleg Series 1: The Quine Tapes.
This 7 1/2″ x 5 3/4″ handbill is one of the more scarce Velvets handbill; this example comes from the legendary Sterling Morrison archive and has Morrison’s stamp and hand written inventory number on the back. We acquired this from Morrison’s wife, Martha, and our letter of authenticity will note its provenance. In mint condition, with great psychedelic artwork (as appears on the front of the Quine Tapes box set.)
