Bob Marley & The Wailers – Ultra Rare 1978 Island Records Die-Cut Record Store Display / Over 3′ Tall
An exceptionally rare die-cut, easel-backed record store display (or standee,) made in 1978 by Island Records to promote Bob Marley and the Wailers album catalog, and his newest album, Kaya.
Measuring over three feet high and two feet wide, this certainly would have attracted attention on a record store counter. The display folds horizontally across the center for shipping, with the easel back folding open for display.
The display is in very good condition, with the guitar neck bending a bit backward (easily remedied should the buyer wish) and some general light fading. On the back some moisture staining is visible, but this is all but invisible on the front, save for some very light and barely noticeable spots at the bottom of the letters MAR on the guitar neck.
The only example of this rare display we’ve seen. 35 3/4″ x 24 1/4″.
