David Bowie – 1999 Oversize ‘Hours’ UK Lenticular Promotional Display / Only 50 Made

A very rare oversize UK lenticular display made to promoted David Bowie’s 1999 album Hours.

While the Hours CD was released as a limited edition with a lenticular cover, reportedly only 50 of these large 20″ x 20″ promotional displays were made.  This is the first we’ve offered, from the collection of a music executive who worked on various Bowie releases.

As described on Bowie’s official website: The project was a collaboration between David Bowie, photographer Tim Bret Day, designer Rex Ray and holographer Martin Richardson…as good as the lenticular version of the ‘hours…’ CD was, it really didn’t give any clue to the brilliance of the images created by Martin, of whose work David said in 1999: “I don’t think I’ve ever quite experienced Holograms like these; they really are magnificent. They almost become part of one’s family, and a very disturbing and ‘otherly’ family at that.”

In Very Good+ condition, with a scratch to the very bottom, light scuffing, and age related horizontal surface rippling to the top and bottom.  This looks at certain angles as if moisture has separated the backing paper a bit from the plastic surface.  Still very presentable, and only one of 50 made.
