James Brown – Very Rare 1967 Paris Olympia Concert Poster

An extremely rare concert poster advertising a series of shows by James Brown at the Paris Olympia in September and October 1967.  These legendary shows came at Brown’s peak; during 1966 and 1967 Brown released some of his highest charting singles including “Ain’t That a Groove”, “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World”, “Don’t Be a Drop Out”, “Bring It Up”, “Kansas City”, “Let Yourself Go”, “Cold Sweat Pt. 1”, “Get It Together Pt. 1”, “I Can’t Stand Myself (When You Touch Me)”, and “There Was a Time”.

Video and audio from these performances show Brown at the peak of his powers (the entire September 25 concert in on Youtube at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PQmXhJ7o638.  The poster measures 15 1/4″ x 23 1/2″.  In mint condition, archivally backed on rice paper, with extremely minor edge restoration.  Only the second example we know of.
