A signed and numbered limited edition lithograph of Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley’s June 1966 concert poster advertising shows by Big Brother and the Holding Company (just two weeks after Janis Joplin joined the band) and Quicksilver Messenger Service at San Francisco’s Avalon Ballroom,  popularly known as ‘Zig Zag Man’.

This example is numbered 466 of 500 produced, and is signed by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley.

In rolled Mint condition.

As the accompanying letter of authenticity notes:

“Zig Zag Man” by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelly is a fine art lithograph printed at S- Editions, Ltd. Atelier in Las Vegas, NV in 2008 under the supervision of master printer Raymond Mazza. The publisher is Rhino Entertainment Company.The edition size is limited to 500 numbered 1/500 – 500/500 plus 50 artist proofs number AP 1/50 – AP 50/50 plus 5 printer proofs marked P.P. The edition was printed on Rives BFK paper.

Each sheet measures 27″ x 37.5″. The image size is 22″ x 30″. Each sheet is numbered by hand in the lower left hand corner.

The image was originally created by Stanley Mouse and Alton Kelley as a silkscreen. S2 chromist, Daniel Woodward, referring to the maquette, drew by hand
the 3 separate plates from which this edition was pulled. One plate was drawn for each of the 3 colors. Proofs were approved by Mouse, after which the edition was pulled, one color at a time on an antique French Marinoni Voirin flat bed press.

The plates used to create this edition were destroyed after the edition was pulled.  Stanley Mouse personally hand-signed all examples in the edition in the lower right-hand corner. Alton Kelley hand-signed in the lower left hand corner.
