Joy Division – 1979 Factory Manchester Concert Poster / Signed by Artist & Joy Division biographer Jon Savage / From Manager Rob Gretton Collection / Archivally Framed

A very rare concert poster advertising Joy Divison at The Factory in Manchester, England on July 13, 1979.  This concert was Joy Division’s first hometown show after the release of their debut album, Unknown Pleasures.

This poster, from the collection of Joy Division/New Order manager Rob Gretton (1953-1999,) features artwork by writer/cultural critic/Joy Division associate Jon Savage.  Savage, author of the definitive Joy Division biography, The Searing Light, The Sun and Everything Else, has hand-signed the poster in the lower right corner.

We acquired this poster from Rob Gretton’s partner Lesley Gilbert; included is her letter of authenticity, noting it was part of the Rob Gretton archive.  The poster measures 17″ x 25″ and is in near mint condition.  It has been archivally (and expensively) framed to 21 1/2″ x 28 3/4″. Frame in mint condition.

With Lesley Gilbert’s letter of authenticity, and Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
