Sex Pistols – 1977 ‘God Save the Queen’ Promotional Handbill / Art by Jamie Reid

An original handbill (actually a large paper gummed-back sticker) made by the Sex Pistols UK management to advertise the Pistols second single, “God Save The Queen”.

The single was released during Queen Elizabeth II’s Silver Jubilee in 1977; the record’s lyrics and the sleeve’s artwork were controversial at the time, and the BBC refused to play it.  The song reached #1 in the NME charts, but only made it to #2 in the official UK Singles chart, leading to accusations that the chart had been fixed to prevent the song from reaching #!.  With classic artwork by Jamie Reid, this measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″, and is in near mint condition, with a faint and barely noticeable horizontal crease to the top right.

With Recordmecca’s written lifetime guarantee of authenticity.
